Brooklynd’s Coffee & Tea is a mobile coffee shop serving all of central Texas. Husband and wife team, Phil and Davina, started Brooklynd’s in July 2022 out of a desire to challenge the status quo and help build a world that celebrates difference and inclusivity. We offer high-quality coffees and teas made with uncommon but tasty flavour combinations and we’re looking for someone to join our team at our first semi-brick and mortar location.

We’re specifically looking for a barista to work at the cafe located within Austin Bouldering Project’s Springdale location. This person will expertly make and serve drinks while greeting customers with a happy disposition. Paid training available. 

 

Barista Job Description

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities Include:
Greet customers in a friendly manner and take food and drink orders
Prepare made-to-order espresso drinks, drip coffee, matcha, and teas
Dial in the machine daily and clean the equipment after each shift 
Operate point of sales machine

 

Barista skills and qualifications
Baristas need a variety of skills to memorize drink recipes, learn how to operate equipment and provide efficient customer service. A great fit for this position has the following skills:

• The ability to make drinks quickly and consistently

• Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and customers

• Basic coffee knowledge, such as how to prepare common coffee beverages

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to interact in a positive manner and prevent or resolve conflicts

• Attention to detail to manage specific customer requests as well as a high-volume beverage assembly line with minimal errors

• Time management and organizational skills to work efficiently and effectively in a high-volume workplace

• ​Ability to lift at least 50lbs and move a mobile cart

Schedule:
8:30am to 2:30pm on Thursdays and Fridays (future Wednesday and Saturday shifts to become available by spring 2024)
Barista paid weekly
